FEAR AND CONFRONTATION
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”
― Eleanor Roosevelt
I, like many people before me and I am sure many people after
have had to stare fear down in the face a time or two.
have had to stare fear down in the face a time or two.
More often than not however, I cower, I flee, I hide,
or I never stand up to begin with.
or I never stand up to begin with.
I do not want to be that way.
I have seen horrors a plenty and I am still here.
I CAN take "the next thing that comes along".
I simply need to remember that; remember where I have been
so that I can tell my fears where they are going.
so that I can tell my fears where they are going.
It is no easy task, dealing with fear.
But it certainly is better than the alternative.
